Working Harder: Doing Painful Things With cPPs (A22a)

An important part of the move to cPPs was to help us to ‘raise the bar’ and improve the ways that evaluation and certification address security needs of deployed systems. Although we have seen cPPs broaden their scope and cover additional technologies, there are still many areas in which we should probably work harder to improve both the baseline security of the products we work with, and the efficiency and effectiveness of evaluation. This presentation looks at a number of these challenges, especially the movement to ‘secure by design, secure by default’ and the use of test automation in evaluation.
