Biography

Since January 2021, Nathaniel Relampagos Aliño is the Common Criteria Program Manager and Lead Evaluator of the Security Evaluation Laboratory within T-Systems Singapore. The laboratory is a testing facility for Common Criteria (CC) for enterprise products, National IT Evaluation Scheme (NITES) for listing in the Government Security Product List (GESPL), and Cyber Labelling Scheme (CLS) for consumer IoT devices. These are schemes governed by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). Under his leadership, the Common Criteria Testing Laboratory (CCTL) achieved accreditation for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) for Information Technology Security from the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC).

Prior to joining T-Systems, Nathaniel was a Senior CC Evaluator at UL Singapore for CC, NITES, and UL Cyber Assurance Program (CAP) testing for IoT products against the UL2900-1 Software Cybersecurity for Network-Connectable Products standard.

Nathaniel started his IT career just before the turn of the century and spent 10 years as consultant in the realm of Enterprise Management Systems, automating management of data centers and geographically distributed large enterprises. A decade later, he focused on IT security as a Senior Consultant for Compliance, Endpoint Security, Security Information and Event Management, and Penetration Testing servicing financial institutions and critical infrastructure in the ASEAN region.

Nathaniel graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science major in Computer Science, an honors program from the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU). He was a pioneering student of the Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise (CITE) where he graduated in 1994 with honors from the Industrial Technicians Program major in Industrial Electronics. After which, he paid back forward to his high school by teaching electronics to out-of-school youths at Don Bosco Technical Institute.

Currently, Nathaniel is a pioneering student again. This time undergoing part time study for the Graduate Certificate in Hardware Security Evaluation and Certification offered by Nanyang Technology University (NTU) – National Integrated Centre for Evaluation (NiCE). This is a program co-developed by CSA and NTU to professionalize the training of CC evaluators and certifiers
