Is Mobility More than Just Phones? (A12c)
So far mobility has been focused on smart phones and related tablets. Early on there was some use of the PP for laptops (up through PP_MDF_V2.0), but these then went to the PP_OS. Is this the right split? What about devices like Chromebooks, should they be OS evaluations? Are iPadOS devices mobile devices, or should they be OS evaluations? And what about watches, AR/XR? How do these fit in? This talk will look at some of the commonalities between these device types and probe possible solutions and consider how to handle devices that may cross boundaries. The talk will review various PPs such as the MDF, OS, GPCP and depending on publication, some harmonized standards from ETSI to support CRA to see how these may relate to categorization of various computing form factors.
