Towards a Protection Profile for Generic Native Platforms in Emerging Secure Domains Under CC:2022 (C30a)
In emerging domains such as robotics, wearables, and automotive, it is essential to ensure security without compromising performance. This necessitates direct control over hardware resources to achieve robust security guarantees. In this context, the importance of native platforms has been increasingly recognized. Samsung analyzed existing related Protection Profiles (PPs) (e.g., PP0099, PP0010, etc.) for native platforms and found that no suitable PP exists for generic native platforms that reflect state-of-the-art technologies and CC:2022. Accordingly, this talk proposes a PP for generic native platforms, optimized for security market requirements while complying with CC:2022. Through threat modeling, consistent security threats, security objectives, SFRs, and SARs are systematically derived. The proposed PP will be rigorously validated by TUVIT and BSI. This PP aims to establish itself as a global security standard for emerging platform ecosystems and is intended for applications in domains where both performance and security are critical.
