Biography
With over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, network engineering, and information assurance, Brent Searleis a recognized technical leader at Cisco, where he has served for more than 14 years. Currently, he leads efforts in international certifications, and as a member of the Global Certification Team for DoDIN APL, overseeing security and network management systems certifications. His work at Cisco has included critical roles in threat response, intelligence, and the global certification of Unified Capability products, as well as hands-on support for Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) testing and product evaluations for the Department of Defense.
Before joining Cisco, Brent Searle held leadership and engineering positions with Aerotek, TASC, CSC, and the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC), supporting both commercial and government clients in hardening, evaluating, and certifying a wide range of networked devices and systems. His expertise spans risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and the development of mitigation strategies to ensure compliance and operational security in complex environments.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, where he led communications teams and deployed VoIP solutions, Brent Searle also spent over a decade as an associate faculty instructor at Cochise College, teaching courses in network support, security, and systems administration.
