Spanish Initiatives on the Security Evaluation and Certification of Biometric Products (A12a)
Common Criteria and LINCE (i.e., Essential National Security Certification) are the two evaluation methodologies used by the Spanish Scheme to certify the security of IT products. However, these methodologies are generic and independent of the technology implemented within the products to provide their security functionality. In the biometric recognition field, the Certification Body developed the IT-14 Technical Instruction to specify the security evaluation of one modality, facial recognition, and one specific use case, video-identification tools. This talk will cover the work done and the new initiatives to be carried out by the Spanish Scheme to cover the evaluation of a wider range of biometric products (further modalities and multimodal biometric systems), applications and use cases.
