PP-Modules and Functional Packages ensure common requirements across different product types, which is great and as it should be. Yet at the same time, this has led to an increase in the sheer number of requirements that any one product may have to cover during an evaluation. As we know, every requirement adds cost to an evaluation, so how do we strike the proper balance? This talk will look at the growth of requirements using the Protection Profile for Mobile Devices since v1.0 and how the scope of the evaluation has continually increased during that time and compare this approach to a possible This talk will look at how the creation of PP-Modules over time has increased the number of requirements in an evaluation and what impact further decomposition in this area may lead to. The benefits and costs of this approach will be reviewed.
