Alicia Squires recently joined AWS Cryptography as the Principal TPM for FIPS, bringing with her more than 20 years of certification experience. Ms. Squires’ areas of expertise include international certification and compliance policy, testing of cryptographic protocols, Common Criteria, FIPS 140, US & international compliance requirements, secure protocols, and networking. She completed her bachelor of science degree in Industrial Technology from Old Dominion University in 2006, has held her CISSP since 2002, and is loosely working on a Masters in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance through Grand Canyon University. Ms. Squires is also passionate about growing the community of women involved in cybersecurity, and she spends time working with organizations focused on women in cybersecurity, including Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) and the Executive Women’s Forum (EWF), where she mentors other up-and-coming women in cybersecurity. She and her family reside in North Carolina where they are very active in their church leading music and teaching.
