Biography

Georgios Theodoridis received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering, with an expertise in telecommunications, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2004 and 2010, respectively. He joined the European Commission DG Joint Research Centre in 2013 and he has been involved in numerous research and development projects with the Directorate on Space, Security and Migration. His main research interests are in the area of Critical Infrastructure Protection, focusing on the security and resilience analysis of the Internet backbone routing infrastructure, cybersecurity certification of Industrial Automation & Control Systems, support for NIS and ECI Directives, coordination of various networks of experts in the respective fields, Smart Power Grids resilience and security, EU resilience of the against Hybrid Threats. Moreover, he is responsible for the design of numerous web-based IT systems for the purposes of the EU; through the digital transformation of specific operational activities of the EU Institutions and Member States, the efficiency of these activities is increased and their scope is advanced.
